Role

I joined the monitoring team of the Environmental Research Group in February 2004. The team looks after continuous air pollution monitoring sites in London and other networks, providing site and data management, quality assurance, local site operation and support, reporting and dissemination of measurements.

In addition to the main operational work in the monitoring team, I am one of the local site operators at the Marylebone Road supersite and am involved in the laboratory operations within the team. I am focusing on the measurement of the chemical composition of particulate matter, including anions, metals and black carbon.

In 2007/2008 I was seconded to Transport for London (TfL) for ten months to work as a senior project manager for the air quality impacts assessment of the Low Emission Zone.

Recent Projects

  • Particulate chemical speciation projects for TfL and London Borough of Camden
  • Running of the Partisol analysers within the ClearfLo project
  • QA/QC of the metal analysis at Marylebone Road
  • Retrospective carbon analysis within London
  • Anion analysis for Defra’s particles network (May 2005 – May 2007)
