Daniel Marsh has worked within the Environmental Research Group's monitoring team since the beginning of 1996.
Following the introduction of the Air Quality Strategy there has been a sustained expansion in ambient air quality monitoring
and the team now manages and disseminates measurements
from over 200 continuous sites across London and the Home Counties.
As well as his involvement in the day to day operational aspects of the teams work, Daniel also works closely with
local authorities across the south east with responsibility for data management, ratification, statistical
analysis and reporting.
The Best Practice Guidance for the control of dust and emissions from construction and demolition was implemented during 2006,
by the Greater London Authority and the London Councils. The Environmental Research Group with their
knowledge and experience gained from operating the London Air Quality Network are in a unique position to carry out and
subsequently analyse particulate measurements from major demolition and construction sites across London and carry out source
apportionment work using data collected from other local urban monitoring sites.

to advise and assist with their particulate monitoring making sure that it complies with the requirements
specified in the GLA best practice guidance and also any additional conditions
imposed by the local authority through the S106 agreement of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.
Daniel is also a member of the air quality forecasting team delivering air quality forecasts to the
London local authorities as well as producing forecasts and issuing SMS text alerts to the subscribers
of the airAlert project which currently covers Sussex and Southampton.
The team also disseminates detailed analysis and
reporting of elevated pollution events across the south east as they occur.
