Monitoring

Photos from the Monitoring Team The air monitoring team has over 10 years experience of air quality measurement and data analysis. In 1993 ERG created the London Air Quality Network in conjunction with the London Boroughs and Regional Health Authorities.

This was the UK's first regional monitoring network. ERG also manages air quality networks on behalf of DEFRA and local authorities throughout South East England.

The team's dedicated members manage in excess of 160 continuous monitoring sites providing site management, quality assurance, local site operator support and reporting including the dissemination of measurements via the Internet.

Other major areas of experience include the analysis of pollution measurements and quantifying the factors that determine pollution concentrations. One of the team’s main strengths is the management of regional air quality networks allowing local air pollution problems to be placed in an appropriate regional context.
